Born in Tachikawa, Japan, Rachael spent most of her childhood overseas. Moving every few years, she delves into her own recollection taking inspiration from the places she has been. Rachael is also fascinated by her heritage, incorporating elements of Japanese culture into her practice. As a child, her grandmother and mother facilitated her interest in art, teaching her paper crafts, buying her watercolors, and sitting her down anywhere with pencil and paper in hand.

It wasn’t until college Rachael started to get serious about her love for art. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts at the University of Kansas. While earning her degree, she picked up a passion for digital design, printmaking, and resin. She enjoys emphasizing the small details and demonstrating the beauty of repetition in her work.
